Article XIX Dismissal of an Active or Novice Member

An Active or Novice Member may be dismissed from the Chapter for any

of the reasons stated in the preceding article.

For further information on the dismissal of a member, see separate section

entitled “Dismissal Procedure”.

Article XX Leave of Absence

An Active or Novice Member may request a temporary leave of absence by

submitting in writing to a Chapter officer specifying:

A. The reason.

B. The approximate length of absence.

C. Whether the leave of absence is for meetings or tournaments or

both.

The member shall:

A. Maintain their dues during the leave of absence Pay a minimum of $20.00 Per Year membership dues. Should the leave of absence be for meetings only, the member requesting the leave shall be responsible for the entire years dues as set forth in Article VIII of these By-Laws.

B. Forfeit their voting rights if the leave of absence applies to the

meetings.

C. Be required to contact the Tournament Director prior to pairing for

each Tournament in order to be a contestant in the tournaments.

D. A leave of absence may only be granted for a 12-month period. Any leave of absence greater than 12-months shall be voted on by the chapter’s active membership.
